Great song, great organization. High Fives Foundation helps winter sport athletes come back from life-altering injuries. One of their athletes, Grant Korgan, is the most inspiring person I’ve ever met.
I shot the the first stop on the 2013 Rahlves’ Banzai Tour at Kirkwood this past weekend. Here is the edit I put together.
Highest point on the mountain.
Sugarloaf, Maine
I blew out an edge on a brand new ski on these rocks. Brand new like, first-day-second-run, brand new.

The Rahlves’ Banzai Tour is back for 2013! This event is so fun to shoot but can be challenging. Last year at Sugar Bowl it was nuking down snow and blowing like hell but they ran it anyway. BANZAI!
I’m excited to ski tomorrow but even more excited for my first apres ski Beer & Handroll of the season at Mamasake!
Source: twitter.comWinter weather is on the way to Lake Tahoe! Up to 18” expected along the crest with snow levels down to lake level. It looks like a pretty wet storm which is what we need to get the ground good and saturated before snow starts to really accumulate. We’ll be back on the slopes in no time!

Tim Dutton and JT Holmes having way too much fun catching air in the French and Swiss Alps. Freeskiing, speed riding, BASE jumping and revisiting many lines ski based by Shane McConkey and JT Holmes in 2004. Also check out Matthias Giraud busting a double gainer ski base off a low cliff by Chamonix’s Argentiere Glacier. This video is dedicated to the life of Benny Brackett.
Squaw Valley’s Avalanche Rescue Dogs are some amazing puppies!

This is the photo you can see behind me in that trucker hat shot. It’s titled ‘Shane On McConkeys’. It is the peak of KT-22 (just outside my office) which was renamed ‘McConkey’s’ after the untimely death of local superstar Shane McConkey in 2009. This shot was the cover photo of Powder Magazine’s issue dedicated to Shane. Keoki is a good friend and an incredible photographer. He is mostly known as an action sports photographer but has traveled all over the world capturing amazing images.
Beautiful Blue Bird Powder day yesterday at Squaw Valley. My friend Sky snapped this shot under the Mainline Pocket, which I had just ripped. It was great to see the sun but I think I saw a little too much of it (see previous post)
